Privacy Policy

This site was built so that there's almost nothing to write a privacy policy about. Here's the complete picture.

What the site collects

Nothing. Citations are formatted by code running in your browser. Author names, titles, URLs and every other detail you type are never transmitted to a server. There are no accounts and no sign-up.

Local storage

Two things are saved in your browser's localStorage, on your device only: your bibliography list (so a refresh doesn't lose it) and your light-or-dark theme choice if you use the toggle. Clearing your browser data removes both. Neither is ever uploaded.

Cookies and analytics

The site's own code sets no cookies. The one external service the pages talk to is Google Analytics, described below; beyond that there are no external requests: no fonts, no ad networks, no other third-party embeds.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate visitor traffic, such as how many people visit and which pages they view. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data according to Google's own privacy policy. The citation details you type never enter that measurement, and the site itself does not collect names, emails or accounts.

Server logs

Like almost every website, the hosting provider that serves these pages may keep standard server logs (IP address, page requested, time). Those logs are part of the host's infrastructure and are not used by this site to identify anyone.

If ads ever appear

Should the site ever carry advertising, the ad provider would come with its own privacy policy, and this page would be updated to say so before that happens.
